Stuart retired from the antiques trade at the end of the 1990s because he was making more money playing poker and he decided to pursue it as a full time occupation.
His early years at the poker table were spent playing the popular games of the time – seven card stud, and a version of five card stud played with a stripped deck (all the 2s, 3s, 4s, 5s and 6s are removed leaving 32 cards). In the early 1980s Texas hold’em and Omaha were introduced to the UK, and these varieties of poker are now his games of choice. He frequented the cash tables at London’s premier poker venue, the Victoria Casino, for many years, but at the end of 2004 he decided to concentrate on playing tournaments. He had immediate success, and the following year he spent several months at the top of the European rankings. Stuart has decided to put pen to paper and share the strategies and techniques that have made him a winner.
