Post: Foundation Learning/Functional Skills Tutor
Salary Band: Dependant upon experience
Reporting to: Centre Manager
Hours: 20 hours per week
Main purposes of role:
• To develop and deliver Functional skills, English, maths and ICT to learners
with barriers to employment, education or training in line with company
policy.
• To support learners to achieve NCFE entry level 3 and level 1 qualifications.
These will include Employability, AIP, Personal Development and Money
Management.
Key Duties:
• To deliver Vocational and Functional Skills qualifications to individuals and
groups as per the needs of the learners.
• To provide accurate and timely formative and summative assessment and
feedback to learners, and maintain assessment records, including tracking
and reporting of learner progress in line with college policy.
• To plan varied activities that will provide opportunities for learners to
improve their skills and meet the targets set in their Individual Development
Plan
• To contribute to curriculum developments including the embedding of
functional skills specifications
• To participate in appropriate programme, course and standardisation
meetings to ensure contributions to individual learning programmes and
maximise achievement opportunities for learners
• To maintain knowledge of new developments in curriculum, courses and
teaching practices to reflect the requirements of the company and the
examining/validating bodies
• To liaise with Functional Skills Support, Accreditation Manager, Centre
Managers and course leaders as appropriate
• Contribute to the monitoring and implementation of the Functional Skills
Development Plan
• To maintain CPD and keep up to date with all developments within Functional
Skills both internally and nationally.
• To complete internal paperwork relating to client attendance, achievements
and other activities.
• To ensure that any misconduct is dealt with in accordance with defined
criteria taking into account any special mitigating circumstances.
• To liaise with stakeholders and funding agencies as appropriate
• To support training staff to develop techniques for the delivery of functional
skills within sessions and modules.
• To attend relevant training courses/staff development programmes.
• To undertake Health & Safety duties commensurate with the post.
• To undertake any other duties consistent with the overall purpose of the job
• Carry out any duties at all times in accordance with companies policies

Post: Foundation Learning Trainer – Young Parents

Salary: Variable depending on experience
Hours: Sessional (7-21)
Main purposes of role:
• To deliver Level 1 Parenting qualification to young parents and expectant parents aged 16 to 24.
Key Duties:
To deliver a Level 1 qualification in line with awarding body and Beacon's quality standards and expectations
• To actively market and recruit young people on to programme to sustain 'in learning' numbers.
• To work closely with professionals to ensure necessary support networks are in place for each young person.
• To help young people match their skills and aptitude for appropriate open employment, further education and training.
• To offer guidance and mentoring to young people.
• To ensure excellent working relationships are developed and maintained with partner organisations
• To plan and deliver training sessions in that will provide equal opportunities for students in line with Individual Development Plans
• To complete internal paperwork relating to attendance, achievements, reviews,
Individual Learning Plans and other activities.
• To work with Functional Skills staff to ensure maths, English and ITC are embedded in the training delivered
Other Duties
• To attend relevant training courses/staff development programmes including PTLL or equivalent.
• To undertake Health & Safety duties commensurate with the post.
• To undertake any other duties consistent with the overall purpose of the job.
• To register with Institute for Learning and update CPD on regular basis

Job Purpose
To further the organisation, keeping within its charitable objectives.
Main Tasks
• To take part in formulating and regularly reviewing the strategic aims of the organisation.
• With other trustees to ensure that the policy and practices of the organisation are in keeping with its aims.
• With other trustees to ensure that the organisation functions within the legal and financial requirements of a charitable organisation and strives to achieve best practice.
Main Duties
1. Formulating strategic aims
• Consider the organisation as a whole and beneficiaries, whether as a member of the trustees or any of its committees, sub-committees, groups etc.
• Reflect the organisation's vision and principles, strategy and major policies at all times.
• Contribute specific skills, interests and contacts and support the organisation in fundraising activities.
2. Ensuring policies and practices are in keeping with aims
• Follow the Code of Conduct at all times, particularly when exercising the functions of the Trustees, or any of its committees, sub-committees, groups.
• Attend meetings of the trustees.
• Reflect the trustee's policies and concerns on all its committees, sub-committees, groups.
3. Ensuring best practice
• Be an active member of the trustee body in exercising its responsibilities and functions.
• Maintain good relations with senior managerial staff.
• Take part in training sessions provided for the benefit of the trustees.
• Fulfil such other duties and assignments as may be required from time to time by the trustee body.
